Live map

Every vehicle in your city, moving now.

Open Hetku and the city is already there: every bus, tram and trolleybus on the map, where it really is, gliding along its route.

A map that shows the real thing

Most transit maps show dots that jump every few seconds. Hetku draws each vehicle as what it is and moves it smoothly along the road.

Real vehicles, not dots

Seen from above at true length. A 32 m tram bends through the corner in three sections.

The whole city, or one line

Pick a line and everything else steps back, so the ride you care about stands out.

Colors from your street

Lines wear the colors of the vehicles in your city, so the map looks like what you see outside.

Smooth by design

Moves along the road, not across it

Positions arrive about every 10 seconds. Between updates each vehicle follows the real shape of its route, so it never cuts through a building.

Honest about gaps

When the data stops, we tell you

If live data stops coming, an amber banner appears on the map with a retry button. It turns green and slides away as soon as vehicles are back.

Only where you are

Your position, only in your city

The blue dot and the locate button show only when you are really inside the city on screen. Looking at another city? The map stays out of your way.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hetku free?

Yes. Hetku is free to use, has no ads, and you don’t need an account.

Which cities does Hetku work in?

Tallinn, Tartu, Riga and Helsinki today, and more cities are on the way. When a new city launches it switches on by itself, with nothing to update or set up.

When can I download it?

Hetku is coming to iPhone first, and an Android version is planned after that. You can already browse lines and stops on this site.

Which languages does it speak?

English, Estonian, Russian, Finnish, Latvian and Turkish.

Who is behind Hetku?

Hetku is an independent app. It isn’t affiliated with any city or transport operator.

Are the vehicles on the map really live?

In most cities, yes. Positions arrive about every 10 seconds and Hetku moves each vehicle along its route in between. In Tartu, buses follow live trip times where available and are otherwise placed by the timetable, with a dashed ring so you can tell.
